FARM Animal Care Version 4.0 Evaluator Trainers
Certified Evaluator Trainers are qualified to:
- Conduct National Dairy FARM Animal Care Version 4.0 2nd party evaluations
- Conduct trainings for National Dairy FARM Animal Care Version 4.0 evaluators.
Evaluator Trainer Applicant Approval and Certification Process
Applicants must apply for initial approval for Animal Care Version 4.0 training via www.nationaldairyfarm.com regardless if they have been certified in pervious FARM Animal Care versions. Once an individual has completed an initial application for Version 4.0, they do not have to reapply for annual recertification.
- Applicant will apply for approval
- Applicants who have met the evaluator trainer applicant requirements must be interviewed on the phone by FARM with a scoring rubric.
- Approved interviewed applicants must complete and pass an in-person certification.
- Evaluator Trainers must re-certify annually (every 365 days) in-person at a FARM Program hosted training.
Maintaining Certification
- Evaluator Trainers must have complete or shadow a minimum of 10 evaluations each year.
- Evaluator Trainers must be a certified FARM Animal Care evaluator for at minimum three years prior to applying to be an evaluator trainer.
- Evaluator Trainers must be shadowed by FARM at least once annually.
Certification of a Trainer will be based on assessment of:
- Education/on-farm dairy industry experience captured in resume, CV or similar document
- Interview with associated rubric score
- Performance on pre-training work
- Completion of in-classroom training
- Completion of on-farm practicum
- Completion of database practicum
- Performance on training tests
- Approval by FARM Program staff
Evaluator Trainer Applicant Requirements
- Evaluators Trainers must have at least a combination of eight years of education and/or on-dairy farm industry experience. Education experience can include animal science, dairy science or other relevant curriculum.
- Credentials must be verified through a resume, CV, summary of experience or similar document with three dairy farm or industry references reviewed and approved by FARM staff
- Evaluator Trainers must be able to perform basic email, internet and mobile tablet and computer functions.
- Evaluator Trainers must be capable of easily communicating with FARM Program staff on a regular basis via email and/or phone.
- Evaluators Trainers must implement the program with the highest level of integrity.
- Physical Requirements:
- Sit, stand, and bend
- Verbally communicate; and hear.
- Walk and stand for up to 8 hours per day
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
The National Dairy FARM Program reserves the right to reject or revoke the certification of any applicant or evaluator trainer after certification who fails to meet program standards.
FARM Animal Care Version 4.0 Evaluators

- When completing the application applicants must include the name and email of their Evaluator Trainer or note they are participating in a FARM led training
- Applicants who have meet the evaluator applicant requirements will receive approval by FARM Program will then be interviewed on the phone by an Evaluator Trainer or FARM with a scoring rubric.
- Approved Evaluators applicants must complete their inaugural training in-person by a certified Evaluator Trainer or FARM hosted training.
Maintaining Certification
- Evaluators must re-certify on an annual basis in-person or via live webinar conducted by a certified Evaluator Trainer or hosted by FARM.
- Evaluators must be shadowed by a certified Evaluator Trainer at a minimum of once a year.
- FARM recommends at least two times per year
