Build your skillset by attending this in-person enhanced biosecurity training session, held over two half-days. Registration is free and due Aug. 28. The afternoon of Sept. 15 will take place in a classroom setting with a deeper dive into biosecurity plans, movements and creating aerial farm maps. The morning of Sept. 16 will take place on a dairy farm – transportation to/from the hotel provided and required for biosecurity reasons.

Attendees will learn from a biosecurity expert and see first-hand implementation of an enhanced biosecurity plan on a dairy in Minnesota. Participants will learn effective ways to plan for and work alongside producers to develop biosecurity plans to protect cattle health. They will have the opportunity to network with other dairy professionals and hear from Minnesota dairy producers about the process and lessons learned.

Funding is provided to support travel, hotel costs and meals (up to $1,500 flying/$1,000 driving) for up to 20 attendees (non-federal employees). Participants must commit to pre-work – completing the 45-minute online FARM Biosecurity – Enhanced course on the FARM Program Database prior to Sept. 1. They must also commit to post-work – supporting at least two producers in the six months after the in-person training to develop and enter their enhanced biosecurity plans into the FARM Database: Enhanced Biosecurity.

Due to limited spots, this training is limited to two evaluators per cooperative/processor.
